Welcome to the Home of Kokanee Glacier Mountaineering Inc.

Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park is a ski touring paradise that is blessed with an abundance of north facing aspects and cold dry powder that is generally regarded as unequaled. The Slocan Chief has been replaced this year by the Kokanee Glacier Alpine Cabin, which is logically located to best take advantage of the endless skiing terrain, and to provide an experience you will not forget.

In conjunction with The Alpine Club of Canada, KGMI manages the winter operation of the Kokanee Glacier Cabin in Kokanee Glacier Park located at the heart of some of the finest backcountry ski terrain found in Western Canada. The historic Slocan Chief Cabin, built in 1896, celebrates its 107th birthday in 2003 and is scheduled to be renovated to its original condition to serve as a interpretation centre. The cabin is closed during renovations.

Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park is located in the Selkirk Mountains just outside of scenic Nelson, British Columbia, Canada. Click here to go to the City of Nelson web page for more information about the area and how to get here
